A cleaner, greener world

Avery Dennison operates in compliance with environmental standards in its factories. We are rolling out across all our plants the much-admired TPM - Total Productive Maintenance - system originally developed by Toyota. TPM pursues aggressive absolute goals: zero accidents, quality defects, breakdowns, and waste.
Utility reduction
Saving energy is a priority. We are changing our electric lighting systems to low-energy bulbs, reducing water consumption in our processes, optimizing the temperatures in our drying ovens, solvent balance and installing thermal oxidizers to minimize heating gas consumption.
Packaging reduction
We have reduced the density of our stretch packaging films, the thickness of straps, and wherever possible use recyclable packaging papers and films. Pallets are collected for re-use or, if broken, sent for recycling - along with incoming packaging waste. New brown kraft boxes are made from recycled materials and are 100% recyclable.
Health and safety compliance
We ensure that our people are working in a healthy factory environment. Solvents used - toluene, benzene, ethyl acetate, essence C, are recovered for re-use. VOC emissions have been reduced through lower-weight silicone and adhesive coat weights.
